Pronounced "yu mai qie" in "Tang Yun" (唐韵), with the same pronunciation as "ai". "Shuowen Jiezi" (说文解字) explains it as the sound of clamor. Also, in "Guang Yun" (广韵) and "Jiyun" (集韵), it is pronounced "wu xie qie", with the same pronunciation as "ai". Furthermore, in "Guang Yun" (广韵), it is pronounced "yu qi qie", with the same pronunciation as "yi", and the meaning is the same as above. Additionally, "Jiyun" (集韵) offers another interpretation: thin and weak.
