In the Jin dynasty, there was Zhang Tong of Langye; in the Former Liang dynasty, there was Zhang Ju of Dunhuang. Also, Herbal Foundation (Bencao): Another name for a leech is zhizhang. Literary Expositor (Erya), Interpretation of Insects (Shichong): Zhizhou is known as zhizhang. Correct Character General (Zhengzitong): The ancient character was written as the hand character with a claw radical. With the back of the hand facing down it is claw, and with the back of the hand facing up it is the other form. Later it was mistakenly written as zhang. The mother of Mencius, of the Zhang clan, is now written using this character.
