Zi Collection, Middle Volume Radical: One (yī) Page 21, Entry 12 The character "之" (zhī) has a fanqie pronunciation that results in the sound "zhěn" (falling tone). The character "忍" (rěn) has a fanqie pronunciation that results in the sound "zhěn" (falling tone). In the "Biography of Sima Xiangru" (Simaxiangru zhuan) from the "Former Han" (Qian Han), there is a phrase "pánshí chuán yá" (磐石裖崖). Meng Kang's commentary (Meng Kang Zhu) explains: "chuán" (裖) and "suì" (䂧) mean "dense" or "compact." Ouyang Xiu's commentary (Shigu shuo) states: This refers to a state of being thick, heavy, and densely layered. Note: It is suspected that the character "suì" (䂧) here is the same as the character "jié" (䂦).
