Kangxi Dictionary

Zi Collection, Upper Volume, Page 70, Entry 07 Pronounced zhì (falling tone) Same as the character 銍. According to the "Pianhai," it is a place name. Another explanation refers to a person who harvests crops. In the "Records of the Grand Historian: Annals of Qin (Qin Benji)," Baili Xi said: "When I was once in distress while traveling in the state of Qi, I begged for food from the [䬹 people]." The "Zhengzitong" considers it to be composed of the radical for "food" (shí) and the radical for "metal" (jīn), belonging to the category of distinctions. The ancient version in the "Records of the Grand Historian" was written as "銍," and it was mistakenly written as "䬹," which is incorrect. 䬹 and 銍 are the same.
