In the Biography of Han Anguo from the History of the Former Han (Qian Han Shu), it says: to transport grain and haul supplies to provide for defense. Also, according to the Expanded Dictionary of Sounds and Meanings (Guangyun), it means to move or to rotate. In the Book of Odes (Shijing), it says: tossing and turning. The commentary notes: tossing is half of turning, while turning is the complete rotation. Also, according to the Collection of Rhymes (Yunhui), it means to roll or turn infinitely. In the Great Mystery (Taixuanjing) by Yangzi, it says: rolling and turning along its path. Pronounced zhuàn (departing tone). Generally, when an object rotates itself, it is in the rising tone; when using force to rotate an object, it is in the departing tone. Also, the clothing or equipment on a carriage is called a zhuan.
