Pian Yun (Pian Yun) states it is pronounced ce. Chi ce is a name for a type of currency from the Han dynasty. The History of the Former Han (Qian Han Shu), Treatise on Food and Money (Shihuo Zhi) records: The high ministers requested that the capital be allowed to mint official currency, with one chi ce coin valued as five ordinary coins. After two years, the chi ce coins depreciated, causing inconvenience for the people, and were subsequently abolished. Commentary: Ying Shao states: This is what is known as the zi gan coin. Ru Chun states: It refers to coins with an outer rim made of red copper. The coins seen today have red outer rims, though the specific method of their production is not known.
