Hai Collection, Upper Volume Radical: Door (hù) Page 380, Entry 04 Pronounced yu (rising tone) Synonym: yao. "Astronomical Treatise" (Tianwen zhi) in "History of the Former Han" (Qian Hanshu) records: The end of the Big Dipper's handle has two stars. The inner one is the spear star, called zhao yao. The commentary explains: The three stars of Geng He form the blade of the celestial spear, and zhao yao is merely one of these stars.
