The character is composed of (zhuī) and (hán). In "Canon of Songs (Shijing)", it is described as having feathers like horns. "Lexicon of Sounds (Yupian)" notes that it can also be written as (liú). "Rhyme Compendium (Jiyun)" states that it can also be written as (jué).
