From the "Book of Odes" (Shijing): "In the south, there is a place called Wuyin." From the "Guangya" (Guangya): "Wuyin, a place name." From the "Yuanhe Map of Prefectures and Counties" (Yuanhejunxian Tuzhi): "Wuyin, in the north of Dengzhou, formerly part of Nanyang." The pronunciation is recorded as "wang ju cut" in the "Tang Yun" (Tang Yun) and "Jiyun" (Jiyun), and the sound is the same as "yu." "Shuowen Jiezi" (Shuowen Jiezi) explains it as the name of Wuyin township in Nanyang.
