Pronounced xin (falling tone). Same as the character meaning blood sacrifice or fissure. Refers to cracks. Cracks in tortoise shells and roof tiles are both called xin.
Also, in the Rhapsody on the Lingguang Hall of Lu (Lu Lingguangdian fu) by Wang Yanshou: The rising movement of the fissure and the lifting of the mane. Annotation: Du Yu says: xin means to move.
Also, pronounced wen (falling tone). The meaning is the same.
Textual Research: In the Rhapsody on the Lingguang Hall of Lu (Lu Lingguangdian fu) by Wang Yanshou, the phrase regarding the crouching tiger grabbing and holding with beams is noted. The character for leaning is part of the previous clause, so it is omitted here.
