Zi Collection, Page Position: Upper, Radical: Private (sī), Page 16, Entry 05 Pronounced xiǎo. Recorded in the "Guangyun" (Guangyun) as "sī zhào qiē" (private and to cut), with the pronunciation xiǎo. The "Yupian" (Yupian) states: 䒕 is a type of grass, which is yuǎn zhì. Originally written as "xiǎo". The "Bencao" (Bencao) says: Yuǎn zhì, its seedling is called xiǎo cǎo. In the "Shishuo Xinyu" (Shishuo Xinyu), Hao Long said: (This medicinal herb) hidden in the mountains is yuǎn zhì, and when it leaves the mountains, it becomes xiǎo cǎo. (Note: The "Shishuo Xinyu" records Xie An saying: When in seclusion it is yuǎn zhì, when it emerges it is xiǎo cǎo.) This translation follows the original text, changing Xie An to Hao Long.
