Shuowen Jiezi states: It resembles a jar with a long neck and a capacity of ten liters.
History of the Former Han (Qianhan Shu), Biography of Money-makers (Huozhi Zhuan): One thousand jars of vinegar and sauce.
Commentary by Yan Shigu states: A jar is a long-necked bottle with a capacity of ten liters.
Also, according to the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), pronounced hong (level tone), with the same meaning.
