According to the Collection of Sounds and Rhymes (Jiyun), pronounced xian (falling-rising tone), with a sound identical to xian (falling-rising tone). It is the same as the character xian (falling-rising tone).

The form of the character 咞 is derived from the radical associated with kan (píng), and contains six additional strokes excluding the radical.
