Radical: Sun (rì)
Pronounced xiǎn (falling tone)
From "Guangyun" and "Jiyun": hu diǎn qiē, pronounced xiǎn. From "Shuowen": means "numerous and minute." Formed from the sun viewed through silk threads; anciently used as the character for "manifest." Alternatively, it signifies the appearance of many mouths. Pronounced like jǐn. "Jǐn" is sometimes considered to be "jiǎn." "Jiǎn" refers to the small cocoons often found within silk floss. In "Guangyun," it is now written as 㬎. It means "numerous and bright," or "subtle and minute." From "Leipian": a head ornament that is bright. Also means "to appear" or "radiance." Also a surname.
Also, from "Tangyun": wǔ hé qiē. From "Jiyun": è hé qiē, pronounced gé.
Also, from "Jiyun": qú yǐn qiē, pronounced jìn. Meaning is the same.
Verification: [From "Shuowen" written as 㬎, meaning "minute and fine."] Carefully checked, the character 㬎 above was deleted and replaced with 字. The character 众 was added below 㬎.
