Also, in the Supplement to the Collection of Characters (Zihui bu), it is noted that it rhymes with the pronunciation yan. In the poem Chuiyunti by Su Shi: Though the rivers and mountains are abundant, the pavilions are difficult to make stable. When ascending and looking out, one cannot grasp the essence, and all phenomena appear rugged and unyielding.
