Wei Collection, Middle Volume Radical: Feather (yǔ) Wan Kangxi stroke count: 15 Page 958, Entry 23 Pronounced wan (falling tone). According to the Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen Jiezi), it means to be accustomed to something to the point of weariness. Formed from the radical for practice, with yuan providing the phonetic. A record in the Commentary of Zuo (Chunqiu Zhuan) states: Indulging in years and wasting days. In the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), it is sometimes written in a variant form (wan). Note: The Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen Jiezi) lists this under the Practice radical, but according to the Correct Character Encyclopedia (Zhengzitong), it is now incorporated here.
