Jade Chapters (Yupian) reads this as yi gu, and Tang Rhymes (Tangyun) reads this as wu mei. The pronunciation is wen (falling tone).
Explanation from Analytical Dictionary of Characters (Shuowen): To swallow.
Pan Yue, Ode to the Sheng (Shengfu): Holding the sounding sheng and about to play, first swallow and belch to regulate the qi. Commentary: Clearing the throat and belching to regulate the qi. Another interpretation states that wenyue is the appearance of spitting out drink.
Also, in Broad Rhymes (Guangyun), it is a compound surname. The History of Northern Wei (Beiweishu) mentions the Wenpen clan. It is also part of a three-character surname, the Wenshilan clan.
Also, in Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), it is pronounced wa (entering tone). The meaning is the same. The character is formed by the radical for mouth and a phonetic component.
Textual verification: In Pan Yue, Ode to the Sheng (Shengfu), it reads first swallow and belch to regulate the qi. This has been corrected to conform to the original text.
