Zi Collection, Upper Volume, Page 14, Entry 02 Pronounced wūměng (fourth tone) with the same sound as "miǎn" — Jiyun (Jiyun). Explained as the sound of calling cattle — Yupian (Yupian). Also, Jiyun (Jiyun) explains it as a calf. Another explanation is the sound of cattle calling. In Wuyin Jiyun (Wuyin Jiyun), it is written as "niú". Also, Jiyun (Jiyun) and Leipian (Leipian) state the pronunciation is yūxìng (fourth tone). People from the Wu region call a calf "xiǎo niú".
