Book of Master Erya (Erya), Explanation of Fishes: Small and tuǒ. Commentary: Tuǒ means small cowrie shells that are narrow and long. It refers to a shape that is long and lacking four corners.
Records of the Grand Historian (Shiji), Book of the Balanced Standard: There are three grades of white metal currency; the third is called fù, which is small and tuǒ, valued at three hundred.
