In the poetry of Xie Lingyun, it is written: The first bamboo shoots are encased in green bamboo skin (tuo). The commentary states: Tuo refers to bamboo skin. Also, it is the name of a plant. According to the Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing), on Mount Ganzhao, there grows a plant with a root like a mallow, leaves like an apricot, yellow flowers, and pod-like fruits, which is called tuo. It can be used to treat vision impairment.
