Literary Expositor (Erya), Explanation of Grasses: Li-nan is also called huo-tuo.
Commentary: Li-nan is another name for huo-tuo.
Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing): Also known as tuo. Guo commentary: It grows in the south of the Yangtze River, reaches a height of over ten feet, and the people of Lingling plant it and water it daily, treating it as a tree.
Broad Rimes (Guangyun): Huo-tuo has large leaves, and the stem contains a pith that is pure white.
Textual Research: Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing), also known as tuo, grows in the south of the Yangtze River. In accordance with the original text, the two characters Guo commentary have been added after kou-tuo.
