Guangyun (Guangyun) and Jiyun (Jiyun) record that the pronunciation of this character is "tu dong qie," pronounced as "tong." Yupian (Yupian) states it is the name of a bird. The Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing) records that on Pinecone Mountain, there is a bird called the qúqú, which resembles a pheasant. Additionally, Jiyun (Jiyun) records two other pronunciations: one is "ta dong qie," pronounced as "tong," and another is "zhi zhong qie," pronounced as "zhong." Both meanings are the same.
