Xu Collection, Upper Volume Radical: Metal (jīn) Character: tiao Kangxi stroke count: 15 Page 1307, Entry 22 Collected Rimes (Jiyun): Pronounced tiao. Jade Chapters (Yupian): Iron. Another view states it refers to a copper ornament on a horse bridle. Note: In the original text of the Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen Jiezi), it was written as a variant form and pronounced zhou. The Jade Chapters (Yupian) and Collected Rimes (Jiyun) changed it to this character and pronounced it tiao, which is incorrect. Cross-reference the notes on the subsequent characters.
