Jiyun (集韵) annotates the pronunciation as ta-ji (他计) qie, with the same pronunciation as "ti" (替). Yùpiān (玉篇) explains it as nose. There is another pronunciation, tu-li (土礼) qie, with the same pronunciation as "ti" (体). It means to remove nasal mucus. There is another pronunciation, xu-ji (许几) qie, with the same pronunciation as "xi" (唏). It means nasal mucus. In Yùpiān (玉篇), it was originally written as "涕".
