Naming Meaning

Kangxi Dictionary

Yunjin (集韵), pronounced shū jiū (疎鸠切), same sound as "sōu" (搜). It is a personal name. A Korean general was named Sinsacha (䱸申差). It is also the same as the character "qiāo" (緧). The "Zhōurén" (辀人) chapter of the "Kǎogōngjì" (考工记) in the "Book of Rites" (Zhōulǐ) records: "Must qiāo (緧) its rear ox." The commentary states that in old editions, "qiāo" (緧) was written as "sōu" (䱸). Zhèng Sīnóng (郑司农) said: "Sōu" (䱸) is pronounced "qiāo" (緧).
