In the Notes on the Offering of Sacrificial Grain in the Suburban Temple (Jiao Tesheng) from the Book of Rites (Liji): Offerings are read as sha. Within the black millet wine, there is boiled turmeric and herbs which are rubbed to extract their fragrant juices; this is called juice sha.
