The "Commentary of Gongyang on Duke Wen's Seventh Year" (Gongyang Zhuan - Wengong Nian) records "䀢 Jin daifu shi yu gong meng." The "Shu" (commentary) explains that this refers to looking with the eyes and simultaneously signaling towards the state of Lu, similar to winking as a signal today. Originally also written as "䀵," it was mistakenly written as "眣," which is incorrect. Also, pronounced shì rěn qiè in "Guangyun" and "Jiyun," with the same pronunciation as "shěn." "Guangyun" explains it as blinking. "Leipian" explains it as looking. Furthermore, pronounced shū zhī qiè in "Guangyun," with the same pronunciation as "shī." This is the pronunciation of "䀢."
