Zi Collection, Page Position: Upper, Radical: Spirit (shì), Page 270, Entry 06 Pronounced shì. The character is explained in "Thesaurus of Chinese Characters" (Zhengzitong) as being identical to the character 觢. It signifies one horn of an ox curling upward. The "Book of Changes" (Yijing), in the hexagram Kuí, line six on the third day, states "its ox pulled" (其牛掣). "Explanations of Classics" (Jingdian Shiwen) records that Zheng Xuan's version uses the character 㸷, with the same meaning. "Shuowen Jiezi" writes the character as 觢.
