Zi Collection, Middle Volume, Page 200, Entry 03
In the "Jiyun" (集韵), it is recorded that the character "shou" (收) was anciently written as "㧃". See the entry under the Radical: Strike (pū), 2 strokes, for detailed annotation.
Also in the "Jiyun" (集韵), it is recorded that the pronunciation is "ju qiu qie", which sounds the same as "jiu" (樛). It is the same as the character "jiu" (摎). The meaning is to bind or restrain.
Note: In the "Shuowen Jiezi" (说文解字), the character "shou" (收) was composed of "jiu" (丩) and "pu" (攴), and was later changed to have the "hand" radical.
