Explained as "close, repeat" in Yupian. Also used in personal names. For example, Shi Ying and Yu Ying, found in the "Genealogical Tables of the Imperial Clan" (Songshi Zongshi Biao) in the History of Song (Songshi). Also pronounced ru ren (rising tone) in Jiyun, with the same pronunciation as "er." The meaning is the same as explained in Shuowen Jiezi. Sometimes written as in Jiyun. It is incorrectly written as in Pianhai, which is wrong.
