Kangxi Dictionary

Pronounced qǐ jù qiè in "Tang Yun" and yú qiè in "Jiyun", with the same pronunciation as "qū". "Shuowen Jiezi" explains it as "yě". Xu Xuan states that the common writing "qí qū" is incorrect. The "Table of Vassal Kings" in "Hanshu" contains the sentence "zhì hū èr páng hé luò zhī jiān". In the commentary, Ying Shao states that "páng" means "qí páng". Additionally, "Guangyun" records "páng yú" to describe an uneasy appearance. "Jiyun" considers it to be the same as the character "qū". Furthermore, "Jiyun" reads it as wū hóu qiè, with the same pronunciation as "ōu". "Páng yáo" describes a deep, sunken appearance.
