In the Broad Rhymes (Guangyun), it is a variant of the character qiong. In the Poem in Reply to Ji Kang by Ji Xi, it is written: Looking down to rinse with spiritual springs, looking up to nibble on the jade branches. Additionally, in the Supplement to the Collection of Characters (Zihui bu), it is noted that when deer reach an old age, jade forms within their antlers, which is called luqiong (deer jade). Furthermore, in the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), it is also pronounced jue, meaning a jade pendant.
