Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), Rhyme Assembly (Yunhui), and Correct Rhymes (Zhengyun) give it as qú and yóu. Sounded as qiú. Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen Jiezi) defines the term as the appearance of a cap ornament. Book of Odes (Shijing) describes wearing one's cap in a stately manner. Mao's Commentary says it is the appearance of being respectful and submissive. The Causes of the Six Scripts (Liushugu) notes the poet used the term specifically to describe the manner of wearing a cap rather than referring to a cap ornament. Also a person's name. Book of Han (Hanshu), Treatise on Literature and Art (Yiwen Zhi) records the Three Chapters of Master Qiú (Qiú Zǐ).
