According to the Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen), it refers to strong wine. According to the Extensive Dictionary of Sounds and Meanings (Guangyun), it refers to mellow wine.
In the Master's Arts (Zhushu Xun) section of the Huainanzi: Rich, strong, sweet, and crisp flavors, it is not that they are not delicious.
In the Seven Arguments (Qi Bian) by Zhang Heng: The strong wine made from grapes.
It is also the same as thick (nong). In the Biography of Ma Yuan from the History of the Later Han (Hou Hanshu): An enlightened ruler is generous in granting rewards and frugal in imposing punishments.
In the Purification Rhapsody (Fuxi Fu) by Du Du: Floating dates in crimson waters, pouring strong wine into the river.
Additionally, according to the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), it is pronounced nong. The meaning is the same.
