Pronounced yu (rising tone) in Guangyun, Jiyun, Yunhui, and Zhengyun, with the same pronunciation as "nie". Explained in Shuowen Jiezi as the appearance of a vehicle heavily loaded and moving. There is a description of "four gates qieqie" in Zuo Si's "Ode to Wei Capital" (Weidufu).
