Pronounced mo (third tone) and bo (entering tone), same pronunciation as "mo" (fourth tone). Explained in "Shuowen Jiezi" as grain for feeding horses. Written as "mo" in "Mao Shi". Also pronounced mo (third tone) and xie (entering tone), same pronunciation as "mie" (fourth tone). In Zhang Zai's "Seven Odes": The lonely and widowed people therefore avoid standing and gaze, and the widows and elders weep in low voices. The five talented scholars adjust their caps and tassels and listen attentively, and the six fine horses hold their breath to the sky and crane their necks waiting for food.
