Pronounced mo jie, same as "mie" according to "Guangyun," "Jiyun," and "Yunhui." Pronounced mi lie according to "Zhengyun." "Shiming" states that redness from an injury to the corner of the eye is called 䁾. 䁾 means the end, because the wound is at the ends of the eyes. "Guangyun" explains 䁾 as the appearance of red eyes. "Pianhai" says it is an eye disease. "Lüshi Chunqiu, Ji Chun Ji" records: "Stagnation of vital energy, if it remains in the eyes, will lead to 䁾 or blindness." Gao Yan annotates: "Mie means eye discharge. 䁾 and mie are interchangeable characters in ancient times."
Furthermore, "Zhengzitong" records that blurred vision is called 䁾, with the same meaning as "mei."
Also, pronounced mo bi, same as "mi." "Song Yu, Feng Fu" writes: "When it blows to the lips, sores form; when it touches the eyes, it becomes 䁾. It causes convulsions and spasms, leaving one half-dead." "Wenxuan" writes it as "mie." "Yupian" originally wrote it as [original character]. The common form is written as 䁾.
