In the "Book of Rites (Liji)", it is mentioned that "xi yong lai". The annotation explains: "lai" is bamboo "lai", referring to the green part of bamboo, which can be used to make ties. Additionally, in the "Jiyun", it is pronounced mo bi (falling tone), same as "mi". It is the name of a type of bamboo. This bamboo is hollow and slender in the middle, and has pith inside.
