According to the Expanded Rhymes (Guangyun), the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), the Rhyme Meetings (Yunhui), and the Correct Rhymes (Zhengyun), it is pronounced mei. It means sickness. In the Book of Odes (Shijing), Weifeng, it is written: Makes my heart sick. Also in the Xiaoya, it is written: Long and distant is my village, also very much a sickness. The Commentary (Zhuan) states: Mei means sickness. In the poetry of Xie Huilian: Accumulated indignation becomes a chronic illness and sickness. Also, according to the Expanded Rhymes (Guangyun), pronounced hui. According to the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) and the Rhyme Meetings (Yunhui), pronounced mei (falling rising tone).
