Yangzi: Fangyan: Meichi is being crafty. In the Jiang and Xiang regions, when a child is full of deceit and craftiness, some call it meichi. Note: In the Jiyun, under the Wu rhyme, it is pronounced mo (entering tone), meaning to deceive. This is likely an error for meichi. In the Wuyin Jiyun, it is erroneously written as li, which is even more incorrect.
Guangyun and Jiyun: Pronounced mei (falling tone).
Jiyun: Pronounced mei (falling tone).
Jiyun: Pronounced mo (entering tone). The meaning is the same.
