Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing): Lái Mountain is where the Jiang River originates. It flows east and enters the great river. The southern side of the mountain is rich in gold. Commentary: Anglái Mountain is currently located south of Yandao County in Hanjia Commandery; it is the source of the Jiang River, and the mountain features the Nine-Fold Slope. Also, Guo Pu, Rhapsody on the River (Jiangfu): The source divides into two branches from Ju Mountain and Lái Mountain, and separates into nine tributaries at Xunyang. Commentary: One hundred and forty li northeast of Min Mountain lies Lái Mountain; one hundred and fifty li further east lies Ju Mountain. Lái Mountain is the source of the Middle Jiang, and Ju Mountain is the source of the North Jiang. From Lujiang and Xunyang, they divide into nine tributaries.
