Guangyun (Guangyun): Pronounced lao. Name of a river. Shuo Wen (Shuowen Jiezi): River originating north of Hu in Fufeng. Also written as lao. Sima Xiangru, Rhapsody on the Shanglin Park (Shanglin Fu): The Feng and Hao rivers rush and surge. Note: The word lao here is the same as the Lao River.
Also the name of a rapid. Commentary on the Water Classic (Shuijing Zhu): The Han River flows east and is called the Lao Rapid.
