Explanation of Graphs (Shuowen): A hole in a roof through which water drips. Formed by the rain radical placed below the corpse radical, representing a roof. Xu says: This is a compound of meanings. Also, Goulou, a county name. History of the Former Han (Qian Hanshu): Geographical Records, Goulou County exists in Jiaozhi. Commonly written as the character for leak (lou).
