Their leaves resemble kudzu vines, and their pods are over a foot long and can be steamed and eaten. They also have a name called 䝁 (liú) shū. The "Ben Cao Gang Mu" (Běn Cǎo Gāng Mù) refers to it as deer bean. The "Erya - Shi Cao" (Ěryǎ - Shí Cǎo) chapter states: 蔨 (lú), is deer bean. The annotation says: it is the current deer bean.
