Zi Collection, Upper Volume, Page 12, Entry 02 Pronounced qiu (rising tone) "The 䳹 (guī) is a type of pheasant" — Er Ya (Erya), Chapter on Birds (Shiniǎo) According to the annotation by Guo Pu, this refers to the 鵽 (guī) pheasant. Originally written as 䳹. Also, according to Jiyun, the 䳹 (guī) is a bird of the duck family. The character 䳹 (guī) was originally carved with the radical Bird (niǎo) and the component 𠕁.
