In the Tang Rhyme (Tángyùn), pronounced kǔdé qiè. In the Jiyun (Jíyùn), pronounced qǐdé qiè. Its sound is kè. The Shuowen Jiezi (Shuōwén Jiězì) says it means to be extremely. The Yupian (Yùpiān) says 勀 means to overcome. The Guangyun (Guǎngyùn) says to strengthen oneself.
