Zheng Yun (Correct Rhymes) notes this is the same as the character for crooked or weak (wang). In the book Xunzi (Xunzi), specifically the chapter on Kingship and Hegemony (Wangba Pian), it is written: treat him with the same contempt as one would a person who is crooked or weak (kuang).
