Pronounced ku (falling tone) — from "ku" (bitter) and "wo" (to water) in Qieyun, and "ku" (dry) and "wo" (to water) in Jiyun. Explained in "Shuowen Jiezi" as a large earthen mountain. Also, "Shuowen Jiezi" has another explanation: a mountain called "ji" in Mei county, Youfufeng. Pronounced gu (falling tone) — from "gu" (ancient) and "wo" (to water) in Guangyun, and "gu" (to marry) and "wo" (to water) in Jiyun. Pronounced jue (falling tone) — from "kong" (empty) and "gu" (valley) in Guangyun. The meaning is the same. Pronounced gao (falling tone) — in "Tangyun Zheng". "Shuowen Jiezi" states that the character "ji", with the radical "fu" (mound), uses "gao" (to announce) for its pronunciation. It should be pronounced with a falling tone.
