In the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), pronounced ke. It is the same as the character used for blood-stained. In the Discourses of the States (Guoyu), specifically the section on the Battle of Tie: Zhao Zi said: The Zheng people struck us, we knelt and spat blood, yet the sound of our drums did not diminish. Commentary: Stained blood on the face is called ke. Supplementary pronunciation: Ke, or written as a variant form, pronounced ke. In the Book of Tang (Tangshu), the Biography of the Princes of the Jiancheng Era: The Prince fell violently ill and spat several liters of blood.
Textual research: In the Discourses of Chu (Chuyu), the Battle of Tie. This has been carefully corrected from Discourses of Chu to Discourses of the States according to the original text.
