The commentary states: The Japanese raisin tree is the zhi-ju. It is what is now called the white stone plum, shaped like coral, with a sweet and delicious flavor. It is also said: It signifies the law. A woman possesses the law, and therefore it is used as a gift. Also in the Record of Internal Affairs (Neize) it is mentioned as ling-ju. The commentary states: The ju is a type of pear; its flavor is not excellent. Note that these two accounts differ, suggesting there may be two types. It also means bent or curved.
